Typing Practice for Beginners
A simple starting roadmap for new typists.
Start with position, not speed
Before worrying about WPM, learn where your fingers go. Spend your first sessions on the home row and short common words, keeping accuracy high and eyes on the screen.
Keep sessions short and regular
Ten to fifteen focused minutes most days beats a rare long session. Muscle memory builds through frequent repetition, and short sessions keep practice from feeling like a chore.
Let speed arrive on its own
As accuracy and finger position become automatic, speed increases without you forcing it. Take a short test now and then to see your trend, but don't judge yourself on a single result.
